2026 Ride

The 8-for-8 Challenge raises awareness of Mental Health Counseling and Addiction Counseling while supporting future Counselors committed to serving communities where access to care is often limited. Donors are encouraged to give $8 and to ask eight others to do the same to raise $8,000 to fully fund a scholarship for a master’s-level Counseling student.

The scholarship is an investment in the future of mental health services. By supporting a Counseling student committed to working in a rural or military community, these communities can have access to qualified professionals who can address mental health and addiction issues.

Dr. Horne holds a PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education from North Carolina State University, an MA in agency counseling from North Carolina Central University, and an MDiv from Duke University.

100% of contributions directly support the NBCC Foundation (NBCCF) Scholarship Program, and all donations are tax-deductible.
